Week 13

One more week to go before the Alpha test, surprisingly I'm quite calm. I don't know why, maybe its because I've showed my project's progress to Miss Jaya on Tuesday, and she said I'm almost there, and she also pin-points some suggestions that may improve my project, well basically there are no negative comments, which is a big relief for me. As of right now, my project has passed the 50% line of the project development and I can slowly do my project without rushing anything that might affect the project outcome.

As for the Final Year Project class, Miss Jaya continues to explain more regarding the preparations for us to find jobs after graduating. In one of my post earlier, Miss Jaya explains on the importance of CV and how to prepare it, for this week's class she explains about how to prepare for interviews. Well basically, its what I've known already; wear formal, groom, be confident, research about the company's background and etc. And she also mentioned that not every company wants to see your certificate, like in multimedia fields, certain companies wants to see your portfolio's and what are the skills that you possessed.

Well that's all for this week.Until next time.

Week 12

Work, work and work. That's the main thing in my head now. As i mentioned in the previous post that there will be no FYP class for this week. So i should have extra time to try finish or at most progress a lot in this week. But then things did not go my way. I've involved in an accident last Sunday, and the front bumper of my car fell off, which is not a good thing. As I'm writing this week's blog, I'm somewhere at Kajang, a small town near to Selangor border waiting for my car to be fix. This is definitely not what i planned last week, and I'm seriously tense regarding my FYP project. Honestly, there are still a lot of stuff need to be done, and I seriously running out of time now.

I still have flash intro, 3rd concept model (main page, gallery, 360 visualizer) and the upload section. Basically almost 40% more in order for me to finish. Only god knows how i feel now.

Well, i think thats all that i want to express for now. I should be going and check my car's condition. Until next week, bye!

Week 11

Only 2 weeks left before the Alpha Test, and I still haven’t reach 50% of my final year project yet. I’m really having a stressful situation here. My notebook seriously can’t handle the rendering task of my vehicle models. For the last 3 days I rendered my first vehicle model rotation video, and the output is not what I have expected. Precious time wasted. Take note that I have 3 models in my website, and I still can’t get the first model video right. Currently I render the video again and hopefully the outcome will be good this time. If only I have a supercomputer to do all this, then most probably I’ll be 90% done by now.

Well for yesterday’s final year project class, I showed Miss Jaya what I’ve done and it seems that Miss Jaya have no problems with it. I think that’s the only good thing that happens to me this week. By the way, there will be no final year project class for next week since Miss Jaya knows our current situation, she decided to give us time to finish our project as much as possible before showing it to her again on week 13.

Week 10

Alright, for this week’s class, Miss Jaya taught us about the importance of Curriculum Vitae. I was asked about mine, and I told her that I’m not really satisfied with it because it’s outdated. Then she explains that a CV should be updated every 6 months in terms of everything including pictures, skills or working experience. Honestly, I don’t think many people do that, but then it’s a good thing to know and I might do it in the future. Besides that, she explains about preparing different CV’s for different companies based on which wants that we want to apply, this is because different companies have different kind of criteria that they want from employees. I believe that a lot of people just use one CV and send it to many companies, which I’m one of those people too.

Anyway, this is quite an interesting topic, and I surely will create a new CV and a proper one instead of using the CV form provided by the faculty.

Regarding my final year project, I managed to find the actionscript codes for my second flash game, and after 50% modifications, it’s complete. Now I just have to create the game graphics, which is very tedious. But then after submitting the proposal last week, I can relax and calm doing my project. Hopefully, the output of the project will be something nice and professional.
